I read a heartbreaking story today about a successful international banker who was brutally attacked and killed by a thug in London with a single punch. The loss of his brother was too much for the older sibling to bear, and he turned to alcohol to cope, eventually passing away as well. It’s devastating to think that a family could be destroyed by one violent act.

As humans, we like to think that we are sophisticated and superior to wild animals, but the truth is that we are not all that different. Especially in today’s harsh economic conditions, violent assaults have been on the rise, with women and children often being the victims.

While it’s easy to believe that we could never fall victim to such an attack, the reality is that we live in an unpredictable world. That’s why it’s important to look and feel confident in our ability to handle ourselves in dangerous situations.

I’m not suggesting that we all need to become fighters or join a gym, but learning how to defend ourselves is a valuable skill that every man should possess. Like the unfortunate banker in the story, we never know when we might be blindsided by violence.

It’s always to give it a once over!

Taking care of our physical fitness can also have positive benefits beyond just self-defense. Not only does it make us look more confident and capable, but it can also make us more attractive to the opposite sex. In fact, I’ve found that dealing with women has been much easier since I started taking my fitness seriously.

I recently joined a high-end gym that’s a bit of a drive from where I live, but it’s worth it for the quality of the equipment and the atmosphere. While there are plenty of young men there who are more interested in posing for selfies than actually working out, there are also a lot of attractive young women who are looking to meet someone nice. It’s a great way to socialize and stay fit at the same time.

Mind giving me a spot?

Instead of spending money on drinking and partying, I’ve chosen to invest in my health and fitness. I still go out to eat with friends on occasion, but I’m finding that I don’t enjoy it as much as I used to. Instead, I’m putting my money towards buying quality food and workout clothes that make me feel good about myself.

In short, taking care of our physical fitness is an important part of being a well-rounded, confident individual. It’s not about being a “beta” or an “alpha,” but about being the best version of ourselves that we can be.
